ok, just posting this so if i turn out to be right i can say i called it:
throughout homestuck both “if you believe in [x] hard enough, that might make it slightly less fake” and “magic is fake as shit” have been repeated often
when hussie fought le, he lost specifically because magic is fake. if magic was not fake, maybe he would have won. (he also lost bc doc scratch is a dick and only has one bullet for his gun. but that’s different)
jake has been shown (with brain ghost dirk) to be able to believe in things so hard they become real
if someone got jake to believe really hard in magic, then it might stop being fake as shit, and (i’m less sure about this, i need to think about it more) maybe they could use magic to defeat le, or john could be retconned into the pages with hussie and convince him magic is real, or something like that. idk. basically my theory is that someone, probably jake, will believe so hard in magic that it will become real, and this will have massive effects on the plot.
