what if harry’s legal name isnt even potter everyone just assumes it is and he’s in all of the school records as harry potter but then one day he looks at his birth certificate and there it its “Harry James Evans”

can you imagine like. Dumbledore and McGonagall just assume it’s Potter just because that’s the way most people name their kids and all and the Dursleys assume the same thing and it’s not like Sirius and Remus are around to correct anyone and then in POA when Remus sees Harry he’s so awkward like. Harry Potter? Harry Potter? Remus was there when Harry was a baby he’s 100% sure his name was Harry Evans but ok. should he tell Harry he’s been going by the wrong name. maybe he shouldn’t. but maybe he should. he spends the whole year being torn between quietly angsting over this and also snickering internally
