my english teacher seems to have a fundamental misunderstanding of why people are afraid of orals

her solution is apparently to force everyone to pay attention + make someone else make a thank you speech where they have to say what they liked about your oral

Tags(+ i am uncomfortable with imagining my classmates like that anyway), (all that does is remind me that they're there), (this is also why imagining the audience in their underwear doesn't work for me), as far as i can tell she's trying to make us feel like we did well??, basically it boils down to i am not afraid of what people think of my oral, i am afraid of people looking at me/paying attention to me in large numbers, i would be perfectly happy if no one in the class paid any attention to my oral whatsoever, idk about you but forcing me to think about my oral for more than the 10 minutes i am required to speak does not make me feel better, making everyone look at me for longer really doesn't help, which is nice i guess but for me it only makes it worse
