Remember that if you select a payment on PayPal that if you select “goods/service”, PayPal will tax the receiver a certain amount. ($3 will be $2.40, $11 will be $10.20 or something)
To get around that, just pay it as a gift for friends/family so that the artist gets the amount they asked and deserves!!!
or don’t do that because you can freeze the artist’s paypal account and sometimes even your own account. it’s considered suspicious activity, especially if the artist is doing a lot of commission work… you can use the paypal fee calculator to determine how much you should send the artist so that they receive the amount they’ve quoted you. i know many artists who use paypal that will even discuss the responsibility of the paypal fee with their client.
paypal is a business too, and they won’t hesitate to hold your account if they believe you’re taking money from them.
Important!
THIS IS REALLY IMPORTANT PLEASE DONT DO AS THE OP SAYS! besides my commission prices take into account the paypal fee as well, you dont have to pay any extra unless you wanna tip (this goes for many other artists too)
select ‘goods and services’ and ‘no shipping required’ when paying for a commission / adoptable etc.
