while Leelah wanted her life and death to bring attention to trans issues and we should absolutley respect that, we should also take this time to support one another and be extra vigilant in the effort to spread resources for suicide prevention, particularly those geared towards trans individuals.

please. keep leelah in your hearts. but don’t make her a martyr. mourn all the other trans girls who died because of injustice too but didn’t get a fraction of the attention. the girls who died because of violence. or because they were pushed to it. the girls who were denied proper care because of how they presented. the girls who were abandoned.
