Shaun King has been actively posting about Ferguson specifically, and some of his tweets have been reblogged thousands of times here as well. He has over 100K followers on Twitter. Not sure if this is already on here or how big of a reach it will have but food for thought, and stay critical.

omg this is so disgusting we TRUSTED him

I don’t know to say :/

Someone I followed posted about this and I haven’t reblogfed any of his tweets since

As of December 6th, 2014, independent news agency ‘gotnews’ published an article entitled: “BREAKING: #Ferguson Activist Shaun King Accused of Stealing From #TamirRice Family #EricGarner #ICantBreathe”, accusing King of keeping the funds that were gathered from the fundraiser for the family of Tamir Rice, here.

Allegation: Funds from the charity that Shaun King promoted on his twitter was not approved by the Rice family, and King has kept the money for himself.

Verdict: False.

The online donation system King promoted was verified by the Rice family’s lawyer on twitter in no uncertain terms.  This directly refutes the claim made by independent news outlet “Renewsit”, which claimed to have spoken directly to their lawyer regarding the lack of approval, complete with a link to a news site that is irrelevant to the topic at hand.

The lawyer, Benjamin Crump, confirmed that the funds were directly going to the family.

The online Rice family donation system was legitimate, and went to the family.

Further, the remaining allegations made in the storify article were addressed by Shaun King in a lengthy post on his website.
